A total of 135,961 crimes were committed, an increase of 1.9 percent.
House burglaries saw an increase of 4.7 percent to 7,122.
Violent crime dropped by 2.7 percent. Interestingly nationally it rose by 13.6 percent
Vehicle crime - stealing of and from vehicles - was down by 1.4 percent.
Robbery was up 9.4 percent with Southampton showing the highest numbers for the force
Unfortunately 65 people died on the roads of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight during the year. However this is now the lowest figure for 40 years and less that half the previous year.
Most promisingly is the news that the detection rate by the Police for crime is up in almost all areas
